Good evening, everyone. In a message dated 6/19/02 11:40:42 PM, zorane10306@... writes: << Still no midi files posted from the preliminary round,LOL did somebody forget to hit the record button? >> I am a little puzzled by this. Although I have not tried to download files from every contestant's page, I am pretty confident that all Preliminary and Final Round files are posted, and I know that many people have succesfully downloaded and played them. Just to clear, there were no recordings for the Screening Audition. Also, the finalists played with string quartet and orchestra. Those pieces were not recorded as MIDI files for public consumption because such files would lack the orchestral parts. Please note, further, that the pages for the non-finalists list what their programs would have been had they made it to the finals. Of course, there are no links for those pieces. If you find a problem with a particular page, please let me know the exact page with the problem. Regards, PianoBench

missing in semifinalists Alex Solomon Wen-Yin Chan I would like to say these files are the best music I have heard on my DKV(I also use the mk50 for ensembles). I am not musical and the dkv was bought for the kids to learn and for me to have some functionality if they stopped learning piano.I have pianosoft disks and downloaded midi files and frankly they were disappointing. These files for the first time makes the dkv shine(It was the unanimous opinion of family, friends and colleagues that the buy was the act of a lunatic = this opinion was also held by the few music professionals who saw and heard it)Some of these were professors of music but of course I did not have files like these from the competition for them to listen to. I hope Yamaha continues to record and share files like these. suresh Thank you Yamaha and most importantly the contestants. PianoBench@... wrote:

Hi Suresh Alex Solomon's files ARE there, they are just not underlined. Just click over the pieces the same as the others. To Pianobench I have noticed that you have changed the downloadable files from the finalists. The other day I downloaded the first of the three pieces the finalists played but now only the second is avaliable to download. Why is this? Good morning, everyone. In a message dated 6/20/02 1:25:45 AM, Suresh writes: << missing in semifinalists Alex Solomon Wen-Yin Chan >> I have alerted the web master to the missing files for Solomon and the correct that needs to be made to his program. I hope those files will appear soon. Thank you for pointing this out. Due to human error, Wen-Yin Chan was not recorded in the Preliminary Round. Her Schubert Sonata from the final round was recorded and posted to the web site. Regards, PianoBench

Good morning, everyone. In a message dated 6/20/02 4:12:52 AM, Midi Magic writes: << Alex Solomon's files ARE there, they are just not underlined. Just click over the pieces the same as the others.>> I did not notice this. However, one of the pieces has the wrong name since he changed his program. His program should read: Berg Sonata in B Minor, Op. 1 Schumann Kreisleriana, Op. 16 Beethoven Sonata No. 32 in C Minor, Op. 111 I hope that the web master will fix this soon. <<I have noticed that you have changed the downloadable files from the finalists. The other day I downloaded the first of the three pieces the finalists played but now only the second is avaliable to download. Why is this? >> No one, including me, explained to the web master that there would be no MIDI files for the quintets and concerti. When the sonatas for the finalists were sent to him, he incorrectly linked them to the quintets. He has since relinked those files to the sonatas. If you have downloaded the new links, you should have obtained the same files that you previously downloaded. Regards, PianoBench
