The link http://www.piano-e-competition.com/contestantbios/wenyinchanf.htm
has only one file with a link - none of the Preliminary Round files are
available.
Regards,
Peter

Please note, further, that the pages for the non-finalists list what their
programs would have been had they made it to the finals. Of course, there
are
no links for those pieces.

If you find a problem with a particular page, please let me know the exact
page with the problem.

Regards,
PianoBench

Peter,

As discussed in earlier messages, by "human error" those
performances were not recorded and thus do not exist. Whoa, we're
getting philosophical here. Sounds as if Bishop Berkely is back
among us. (If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to hear
it, etc)

Here is Samuel Johnson's rebuttal to Berkely, as reported by Boswell:
"After we came out of the church, we stood talking for some time
together of Bishop Berkeley's ingenious sophistry to prove the
nonexistence of matter, and that every thing in the universe is
merely ideal. I observed, that though we are satisfied his doctrine
is not true, it is impossible to refute it. I never shall forget the
alacrity with which Johnson answered, striking his foot with mighty
force against a large stone, till he rebounded from it -- "I refute
it thus."
Boswell: Life of Samuel Johnson

Physicist John Wheeler's current project is to examine whether the
universe exists without observers. Berkely all over again, but this
time with arguments bolstered by quantum physics.

But I digress (big time). Please don't make this a thread, as Todd
will get grumpy.
