Copying and playing .fil files

Copying and playing .fil files

2002-11-11 by rsconti30907

OK group, this is the first time I've tried this so I need some spoon
feeding here. I formatted a disk and copied a .fil file from our
group files and tried to play it in my DKV. Nothing happened when I
placed it in the drive and pushed play. Do I need to convert it to
another file before it will play? If so, how do I do it? I have a
DGT2IIXG. Thanks, Rick

Download the utility called dkvutils.zip form this site. Extract
EEXPLORE.exe and open your fil file / directory / floppy from within
this program. Then, right click the crossed out pianodir.fil file at
the top and select 'create index'. Done. This will generate the
necessary index file called pianodir.fil. on your floppy and it
should now play.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
