The Pro series can access all of the instruments. You need to bank
select to get beyond the standard GM voices. If you have a computer
driving the DC7Pro, this is easily done with most sequencers. I am not
sure you can do this with the attached controller by itself. I looked
into this once myself and couldn't figure out how to do it.

Dave - you are correct -- that is exactly my issue.

A MIDI file on disk, or sequencer software on my laptop connected to
the piano can access/play all GM/XG voices using bank select.

The difference comes in a 'live performance'. On my DC1A, after
pressing the VOICE button to layer a synth voice with the piano, I
can bank select from the control unit using the front panel keys and
have access to the full spectrum of XG voices for live performance
layering. On the DC7PRO I can access only the standard GM voices. I
have not found a way to have my laptop change the 'active voice' of
the DC7PRO controller to select an XG voice that can then be played
from the keyboard. Have you found a way to achieve this using an
external sequencer/laptop with software?

Looking for ideas......

Denis

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
