I just found a couple of Yamaha Disklavier uprights on eBay. I'm overwhelmed with all the model numbers. One is MX90RBL, another is MX101R. Is there some model number prior to which one shouldn't buy? I've read there there is a pedal problem on early models and parts aren't available for #100 models and earlier. The piano will cost about $5,000 delivered. Perhaps, I should spring for a new one. What would be a good price? Any other advice?

If you live in North America, watch out for "gray market" pianos -- that is, Yamaha pianos not marketed in North America. Yamaha will not support them. PERIOD. To learn whether you are considering a supportable piano, contact Yamaha (America) Piano Service: 1-800-854-1569 between 8:30-5:00 PST. Push 2 at the first menu choice and 2 at the second menu choice. cjgeorge2001 wrote: > I just found a couple of Yamaha Disklavier uprights on eBay. I'm > overwhelmed with all the model numbers. Those models are not sold new in the United States, thus designed and made for more than likely the Asian market. I would tend to say buyer beware. cjgeorge2001 <cjgeorge@...> wrote:I just found a couple of Yamaha Disklavier uprights on eBay. I'm overwhelmed with all the model numbers.
