I just bought the DU1A and was wondering is there a way to internally change or modify the sampled piano sound it sound so electronic when I practice in silent mood through the headphones.

That DU1A came with some really good voices. There should be several piano
sounds to choose from as well as what kind of "room" sound you want like
Hall 1, or Hall 2, etc. Not to sound like a broken record, but the Owner's
Manual should explain all these options. Also, there is probably a chart
somewhere in that book that lists all the choices you have. There are piano
sounds in both General MIDI mode and XG Mode. Which sound chip have you
selected?
