MX100A UPDATE

MX100A UPDATE

2003-09-26 by archstl

Does anyone in the group have a MX100A or MX100B with the new SMART
PIANOSOFT software? I have it but am having problems. I have a DSR1
with DCD1 and got the software and updated the DSR1 and DCD1. Tried
it and on last track of CHERS BELIEVE piano part quit playing.
Turned things on and off again etc. and got CD part to play but not
piano. Turned everything off again for awhile, turned back on and
tried HOOTIE AND THE BLOWFISH SMART PianoSoft floppy and CD.
Noticed the LCD screen on my DISKLAVIER at one point showed the
following <00:00> 00000 then shortly afterward the SYNC was off. (CD
and floppy were not in unison.) One time the piano just locked up
playing one of the songs. Turned off etc. I played around some more
and then got some funky symbols on the LCD screen of my disklavier.
I've written to YAMAHA and they will be getting back with me next
week. Any thoughts out there on what might be going on. Is it the
piano malfunctioning? Oh yeah, I tried just a YAMAHA PIANOSOFT PLUS
floppy and there were times when the sync. was off. The piano part
was not right with the computer generated part.

Good morning, everyone.

I cannot explain "funky symbols" on the screen. The rest of the symptoms make me wonder whether you have set the original control unit to receive MIDI in real time (as opposed to dealy mode).
