Changing channels on midi files

Changing channels on midi files

2003-10-14 by PaleAliens

Does anyone know of a downloadable utility that will allow me to
convert the grand piano or bright piano voice in a midi file from
channel >1 to channel 1? I haven't figured out if/how my MX-88 will
play anything other than the voice recorded in channel 1 (after
converted to ESEQ).

I suggest you consider purchasing a copy of PowerTracks Pro Audio 8.0.
See www.pgmusic.com In time, you will probably want to examine and
edit other parameters of MIDI files.

You can download Jazz++ as freeware at: http://www.jazzware.com
This is a MIDI sequencer that will allow you to change tracks and channels.
Your Disklavier plays the piano keys with the data on Channels 1 and 2
regardless of what voices are there. I don't think the MX80 series DKVs
come with any ensemble sounds, play piano only on ESEQ files on 720k floppy
disks.
