disklavier models in uk

2004-06-13 by Keith Barrett

Hi,

Can anyone tell me which Yamaha pianos come in disklavier form. I.E.
what size of grands and which upright models.

I have spoken to a few shops but they seem a bit vague and are trying to
push me towards models currently in stock rather than the full range.

Also, do I have to have the silent features and speakers e.t.c. What I
want to do is to just have the piano record and playback facilities. I do
not require the other voices e.t.c. Can I purchase this or do they all
come with all the options fitted.

A bit surprised at how little information UK dealers seem to have on
disklavier.

Thanks

Keith

I to live in the uk and have had a real trouble getting information
about disklaviers, your best bet, is to go to Chappells in Bond
Street London, as the sales person "Nigel" is very helpful and can
answer all your questions. I have moved to Buxton and the nearest
shop is in Manchester. I will not give out names of the two shops in
Manchester 1) a very old shop which has a poor selection of titles in
fact they show me a photcopy of a list of titles dating back 6 years!
2) a musical chain shop in the north which is very "glizty" but have
not the know how!
As I said the best bet is at Chappels in Bond Street, as they are
owned by Yamaha and they do "good deals" plus if you want to buy any
disks there you can play before you buy! Which is Great as they did
do some Horrible ones only fit for a coaster for your glass of wine!
and they dont come cheap as you must know! I good bet is to wait for
there sale which is usually around june and the New Year!
Kind regards Stephen
