Disklavier

Ladies and Gents, I have a DC2A MarkIII disklavier.

The last few days I've encountered an unusual message as I indicated in the
Subject line above.

Can anybody tell me what that means?  I can't find it in the manuals.

What it probably means is that you will soon be introducing yourself to 
your new piano/Disklavier technician. The thermostat involved is 
undoubtedly on one of the two pedal solenoids.  It is there to protect 
the solenoid coil--and to save you from a big bill.. Normally, those 
solenoids run quite cooly--even with continuous play and lots of 
pedaling.  However, they can become overloaded if the pedal(s) are out 
of adjustment.  There are both mechanical and electronic adjustments to 
be made and a calibration to be done through the control unit. 
Therefore, you will want a tech who has been trained by Yamaha.

Definitely call the Disklavier tech.  I went through
this last year with my DC2A Mark III.  He aligned the
pedals and did the calibration, and it would still do
it in heavy playback.... turned out to be a faulty
solenoid.  However, it was about 8 hours of labor all
together (several visits) and all under warranty, and
having a knowledgeable tech really made the
difference.
