Does anyone know why a midi file (you know plays on a Mark IV via floppy disk) when downloaded to a USB Smart Stick will not play on the Mark IV? The system acts like there is nothing inserted in the USB. Several different brands of sticks have been tried, the last one being a Memorex.

I do not believe the USB ports are currently activated on the MarkIV. A floppy disk should work. Good afternoon, everyone. I have used a 1 GB Lexar JumpDrive (i.e. USB flash drive) with success many times on various Mark IV Disklaviers (as well as 300- series CVP Clavinovas). I am wondering if your Mark IV does not have the latest system software installed. Regards, PianoBench

Hi I have a Clavinova piano and have found that if I copy Eseq (.fil) files to an external device card, memory stick etc they are NOT seen by the CVP. However if I convert them to Midi then it works fine. Yamaha says "they do not expect to see .fil files on anything other than a floppy disk and as such, have not made .fil via the USB possible".
