I have to sell my DC5A
2006-03-05 by Jeremy Roberts
Hi to all... I am moving and there is no possible way that I can keep my DC5A in my new apartment. :-( Anyone who knows New York City apartments knows how tight space can be, and I have been lucky to have a nice big room for the piano at my current place -- but we recently had a baby, and we need a bigger apartment, so it's either the piano room or a baby room, and my daughter wins (for now)... so I have to downsize. My DC5A is exactly 2 years old. Purchased brand spanking new, right out of the crate, on March 11, 2004. It has the satin-ebony finish (which I prefer -- looks classic). Serial number #5926656; 6' 7" Disklavier Mark III (DC5A) This piano was purchased new from a US Authorized Yamaha dealer, and the US warranty is transferable. You can confirm the serial number on the Yamaha website. It is in 100% flawless, perfect, amazing condition. Sounds, and functions like new. Actually, sounds better than new, since it was initially set up and has been maintained meticulously by NYC technician Kaz Tsujio -- Kaz tweaked the action to 100% spec and it is a superb instrument. Since I was on tour most of 2005, it only was only played a few times a month in my home... it is in a temperature and humidity controlled space... comes with remote, electronics, discs, speakers, accessories, bench, etc... -- if it was with the piano when new, it's included. AAA Professional were the movers (it was only moved once, from the warehouse to my apartment/elevator building) -- they are also Yamaha's movers for their concert pianos in the NYC region... this puppy has been babied by a professional musician for 2 years... I hate to see it go... but my family needs the space, and I have a real sweet C7 at my studio, so I have to let this go. This is an opportunity for someone... Yamaha did not make very many DC5A models - especially in the satin ebony finish. At 6'7" it is a nice compromise between size and sound quality - for a NYC apartment, it does not overpower the room, yet, it is a "full sized" instrument. I know I'm preaching to the choir... Before I list this baby on eBay, I thought I'd send a blast out to the Disklavier community -- if anyone knows anyone, etc... The price is $26,000 (+ moving/shipping) If you're near NYC (upper west side), of course, please come play it and check it out, if you are serious. Thanks for listening. Jeremy Roberts
