disklavier power usage question

disklavier power usage question

2007-03-23 by wandamusic@aol.com

How many people have some sort of power stabilizer or surge suppressor on
their disklaviers?

I want to buy something (need SOON!) and as I have 2 different kinds for my
computers, one bigger than the other, I want the smallest that will have
enough power to work for the piano as well as any speaker system I get, plus a
computer in case I end up putting one there. I do have a laptop so I may never
need to put a computer there, but this is going to involve changing/moving
an outlet and putting this device in a closet to bring conditioned power out
into the living room next to the piano.

Has anyone done this? Or does anyone have any advice for what I should buy?

I currently have 2 APC units, one about 10 years old and a larger one
probably 5 years old or less. I have had no problems with them.

Blessings,
Wanda

No UPS, but I have a rackmount power conditioner (the kind sold for
studio music stuff) in the top of a small rack that holds the computer
and the ADAT D2A's that rolls around under the piano.

I purchased a APC vertical unit that is black (so it looks good). It
also has provisions for video and audio cable protections.
