Good afternoon, everyone. The Virtual Audition phase of the e-Junior Piano Competition (www.piano-e-competition.com ) is now finished. 43 contestants recorded on Disklavier Pro pianos with synchronized video at 7 locations in 5 countries: United States (LA and NYC) Canada (Vancouver and Toronto) China (Shanghai) France (Paris) Russia (Moscow) These 43 contestants (http://www.piano-e-competition.com/ecompetition/participants_2008.asp ) represented 18 countries: United States Canada Russia China South Korea Germany Japan Belarus Holland Lithuania Slovenia Luxembourg Poland Taiwan Turkey Switzerland/France/Tunisia 20 were selected by a distinguished screen jury (http://www.piano-e-competition.com/ecompetition/screening_jury_junior.asp ) to continue to the next phase of the competition, which takes place in Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN this summer. The screen jury viewed and listened to these time-and-space shifted performances at Yamaha Artist Services in New York City last week. I had the opportunity to record most of these contestants and listened to the audition playback. There are a number of remarkable young pianists in this group! MIDI files will be posted soon at the competition's website. Don't miss them! Regards, PianoBench www.georgelitterst.com www.timewarptech.com
