DOC to midi

2009-01-16 by ISKI1@aol.com

Does anyone know how to convert DOC files to standard midi so they will play
on VanBassco?

They play on YamPlayer with the DOC map but Yamplayer does not convert them
to midi correctly.

The DOC disks should be in E-SEQ format so the utilities on Carol Beigel's site might work ( http://www.carolrpt.com/miditools.htm )

The file extension is .evt and .dir

They are not .fil (E-SEQ) files.

What is a DOC file? Have you checked the Giebler website to see if he
has a utility to convert it to MIDI?

Hi

Yamplayer will only convert DOC to Midi it will NOT re-map the
voices as you have found out. It does indeed convert them correctly
Eseq to Midi but it does not know they are DOC so does not apply any
voice mapping.

As you have them as midi files you can re-voice them manualy using
the data in the doc.map.

How many DOC disks do you want converted? I have some already done.

Dave

Greetings david962548,

i wrote a simple patch converter program that will change the patch
numbers in all occurrences in any midi files in batch mode. you just
give it a list of the old to new patch numbers. if anyone is
interested, i'll post it on my web site.

Good afternoon, everyone.

Spencer, will your program also get rid of DOC reset SysEx and replace
it with a GM SysEx? I think that this will be important.

PianoBench

Hi

There is no need to remove the DOC re-map SysEx if you intend to
play the file back on the PC only if you send it to a Yamaha device.

Midi
