Hey Kevin - as I only use the PRC if hell freezes over since you wrote DKVBrowser, any chance you could add the short cut functionality to the browser?
(cause Hell Freezing Over is so random LOL)

This question probably belongs over on the DKVBrowser group...let's not clutter this list with (slightly) off-topic stuff, please.

But, to answer the question... Do you really think you'll use the feature? Seriously? I'll likely add it to DKVBrowser anyway since it's pretty complete otherwise, and I wouldn't want to leave something like this out...but my first impression of the shortcut feature is an emphatic "meh".

I've been off doing other things with my spare time, not putting any effort into DKVBrowser...mostly because I had some concern that either 4.0 would break it completely via a security change, or offer something entirely new via the "open API." Since neither of those things happened...it's back to being a viable thing to spend time on. :-)

-Kevin

Well I am responding here because its easy.

I love the idea of being able to easily pop a few shortcuts together for a party etc and leave an itouch by the piano.

My DKVBrowser is on a small otherwise annoyingly small and useless original dell netbook in the kitchen (the piano is in the basement).

I love everything about DKVBrowser and nothing about the PRC except the fact that the technology is about 8000 computer years old (and therefore quaint but unuseable).

Re: How to Make Shortcuts on Mark IV Disklavier

Kevin, as far as I can tell the shortcut feature seems to only work with the iPhone app, as i haven't been able to figure out how to access the shortcut from the Virtual PRC and the handheld PRC yet. I agree it isn't a big feature for most especially if you don't have a means to utilize it.

I was thinking that maybe the shortcuts are there and will be somehow utilized by Mark III users in some manner in the future with their new box and setup. But that is an assumption on my part, as I don't really know the workings of the Mark III.

Joan, it seems that you can also assign any of the "shortcuts" to the "hot button" at the base of the PRC's charging station.
