hi everyone,

my disklavier piano attracts so much dust.

Q: what do you all use to clean your piano without doing harm with
the finish (scratch)

thanks in advance

We use the "swiffer" duster which works on the principal of electrostatic
attraction. The napkin sized dusting pads can be purchased in boxes at the
supermarket.

This is good for the "first layer" of dust. After removing the first layer of
dust, using very light to no pressure, we then use a fresh pad of the same
material after lightly spraying the piano with the special polish that Yamaha
sells for their high gloss pianos. They also have a special polish for the
keys. Both are available at Yamaha dealers.

I use Cory Super High Gloss Piano Polish to clean my piano. I apply it
with a chamois. I purchased it at a piano store. If you can't find it
you might try calling the distributor listed on the back of the bottle -
Schaff Piano Supply, 1-800-747-4266.

Bob:

I don't have the bottles in from of me but you should be able to find out
from your Yamaha dealer or from Yamaha themselves. There is only one Yamaha
polish for the keys. For the finish, you want the "hard gloss" version if you
have the high gloss, hard polyester finish. It is likely that there are other
manufacturer's for high gloss polishes but I have not researched them or
tried them.

I have been using Pledge Grab It Mitts. The come in nice little glove shaped
mitts that you just swipe with. I use them regularly on my DC3PRO with high
gloss finish and they have worked great. I have tried the polish but it
seems to attract more dust. The mitts are anti-static and haven't scratched
my finish at all.
