Disklavier

We just got our DGA1 Disklavier delivered last night and we're extremely happy.  My only disappointment is that it has the DKC-55 (floppy only control unit) were I thought it had the CD drive (DCK-55CD). Unfortunately, I couldn't tell from the listing and I didn't even think to ask.  My plan is to eventually upgrade the box to the DKC-850, but is it worth getting my hands on a used DKC-55CD in the interim?  If so, how much should I expect to spend? Where would I even find one?  I'm I missing much by not having the CD drive?  Any advice would help. It will definitely be ahwile before he wife lets my spend any more money.

Hi Chuck,

Maybe you can consider connect the control unit to a computer via midi. This way you'll have much more flexibility than the controller alone. You can play midi files, or record straight to PC with some sequencer software. The overall cost maybe much lower (as you can get some very cheap new or 2nd-hand laptop or normal pcs).

Just my 2 cents without knowing what's your need.
