Disklavier DC7 For Sale

2011-10-06 by Peter Giles

Hi All,

I just wanted to make you all aware that I am planning to sell my Disklavier DC7M4 PE. It is the third Disklavier I've purchased, I love it, but I'm planning to move over to an AvantGrand in the future.

The piano is 5 years old, in mint condition, has been meticulously maintained, and has been in a climate controlled space the entire time.

The instrument comes with the TRC-100 tablet remote, the PRC-100 pocket remote and regular piano bench.

There are 178 albums loaded onto the hard drive—mostly PianoSoft Solo/PianoSoft Plus/PianoSoft Plus Audio, but also a variety of Virtuoso software and Live Performance (Rachmaninoff plays Rachmaninoff, etc.) Considering that the average cost of a PianoSoft Album is $32, The value of the software that comes with this piano is around $5,600.

When I first received the instrument, Tom Kaplan, Yamaha piano technician extraordinaire visited with me and spent 3 full days working on the action to make it play fabulously. Victor LaGamma has been the technician ever since.

Asking price is $36,000 plus shipping. Please let me know if any of you have interest, or if you know someone who is looking for an instrument like this. Thanks!

Peter - I sent this info to a family friend and a private school, both of whom are familiar with my piano. I don't know if either are interested, but maybe one will be. Thanks for letting us all know. I would buy it myself for the school if I had the money!

Re: [disklavier] Disklavier DC7 For Sale

By the way, I'm reading posts and responding from Rwanda, Africa, where my husband and I are spending four months while he teaches for a family practice residency - a new program in this country. I am volunteering a couple times a day to (attempt to) teach English to students at a school for the deaf a mile+ up the road, and one time/week to teach music to a private school 1.5+ miles down the road. (I walk to both locations as I have no transportation during the day; my husband bought a small motorcycle to get him back and forth the 6 miles to town.) The private school, one of the best in the area, has no functioning lights in the classrooms, very rough chalk boards, rudimentary wooden desks for 2-3 students each with benches attached, no computers for the students, no overhead projectors, no music instruments of any kind, no students who read music (though some learning notes and intervals, etc. with flashcards I found to download and print on the
tiny printer I brought with me), no textbooks, no copy machine, no paper cutter...you get the picture! I would love to get these guys a simple keyboard so I could teach a few kids to hammer out a few notes on it to help them in their singing. When they sing their hymns for their church service (it's not a religious school per se and not sponsored by any demonination, but since it is a boarding school for kids ages about 5 - maybe 13, they have church services every weekend where the kids sing for long periods of time!), they often have the tune and timing incorrect as they have no notes to follow, and if they did have notes, they would not know what they meant! At least the whole school speaks English so I can communicate with them. My Kinyarwanda language acquisition is in its infancy!
