Mark III CD's and midi files

I'm about to own a DGC1A with Mark III unit that has the CD player for pianosoft. Can you burn a CD with MIDI files on it and put it into the DK and have it play them? Or in ESEQ format with an index file perhaps? Or is floppy the only way to play MIDI from media? If burning CDs is an option, what is the process (do all files go into the root or can you use folders to organize them?) Yes I know the 850 upgrade unit has a USB port to get around this media problem but wondering if this is possible. Thanks in advance for any help. . . .
