Dotcomformat

I am a rank beginner. I've built the Yves Usson YuSynth Random Gates module kit from Bridechamber and it has a bit of problems.

The gate input indexes but it isn't random. I am getting a repeating pattern. The pattern changes after a long power down but it still repeats.

Firstly, I'll admit the real problem is two-fold. My skills and the fact that (this is important) I actually had the XOR gates chip (CD4070) in backwards! Luckily I refuse to make anything now without good sockets so I simply reversed the chip and tried it again. 

Is the CD4070 zapped or is there something else to look for?
