yah..... i've been having...... discussions...... with friends about hard/software... and subsequently a bunch of time considering.... and.... maybe this is just me.... but i have YET to find a piece of software that makes me want to pry the cover off and dig in the guts of it..... like some hardware does.

i know some people don't like 'em, but i've always loved my korg em1 and emx1. taking JUST them on trips (w/out even a laptop) has made me spend time figuring out how to stuff on them that i would usually just whip out on a pc sequencer... and that's good times.

i dunno. soft is cool for the portability/money, but i LOVE my hardware bits.

mmmmm...... hardware bitsssssss.......

Hahah yeah. Not exactly the most politically correct moniker, I
  admit :)

You know, when it comes to hardware there seem to be a slew of people
that run around justifying hardware purchases by saying "they like
knobs and hands on control". Some of this is probably true, but there
are always a few that just want hardware because they think it
  legitimizes them as a producer.

Anyway, elektron gear to me seems to be the ultimate hardware
purchase - it's hardware which is justifiably hardware since what you
can do with it and the way you interact with it would be very hard to
completely replicate in software...even with a dedicated controller.
Plus there is always the fact that it has that menacing red screen
which just seems to be continually taunting you to come over and make
  another mind-bending pattern :D
