Hi all!
To give a little break on the recent spam on this list, here's
somthing on-topic! :)
I'm in love with both my MD-UW and MM. But, I've been struggling with
finding a way to properly sequence them. Let me tell you what I mean.
Some of you might recognise the point where you've sequenced a very
nice pattern (using the MD,MM and sequencer-soft) and you feel it
should go into the next phase: building a proper track out of it.
But, you want more complexity than is possible with muting-unmuting
tracks on the Elektron gear. As parameter locks don't travel through
midi, you have to use the Elektron sequencer. Unfortunately, you
can't mute/unmute through midi (yet?! PLEASSEEE ELEKTRON...:).
Do you people actually copy your base pattern in 10 alternative
patterns, altern them and then sequence in song mode? Or do you
transfer tracks without pattern locks to your software sequencer? I
find that all the messing about with different patterns destracts
from the actual song. Building a pattern is fast as h*ll, but when
you want to start building a track it gets very 'complicated'. I'm
really curious about how you solve this 'problem' yourself!
Sorry for the bad english...:(
Bye,
Jasper
