A few differences. 64 steps sequencer in mk2, 32 in mk1 More Rom slots and 4 ram machines instead of 2 (and 2,5MB sample memory, as opposed to 2MB) DC power, meaning, at least in theory, that battery power is easier to achieve. However, I think the power comsumption is rather high, so AA-batteries is probably out of the question. Balanced outputs and, I think, different D/A converters. The sound in the MK2 unit is slightly more rounded, and the bass slightly more defined to my ears, however, that is my feeling when I got the mk2, haven't really A/B compared them. Still sounds decidedly MD though, so no night/day difference. Might have forgotten something... /Patrik -0behn desu0- wrote: > > > hey there. i know that the mkII has the 32 steps for the sequencer... > i'm kinda fuzzy on the rest of the differences. was there already a > post or is there a webpage that lists all of the new stuff in the mkII > version? > > and, does the mkII run off dc instead of ac? does that mean that you > can make a battey pack portable setup for the md mkII? > > that would be geechy. > > thanks much, > > -0behn desu0- > >
