You could try some ready sliced breaks samples in the UW kits with plenty of room style gate reverb and have the on board compressor set at low threshold/hard knee for that pushed big beat tone?
That amen break seems to be popular!

I have to agree with you about their recent work. Unfortunately. :(
So, no creative ideas on how to utilize a Machinedrum UW in this genre (other than selling it for an Akai sampler)?

The Chemical Bro's tended to use very processed breaks with lost of compression back in the day that works best on dedicated samplers like an MPC which they used live however they now also use a Machindrum which is all over their last album it's just a shame Tom and Ed aren't as good as they used to be imho.

I was feeling a bit nostalgic the other day and dusted off my Chemical
Brothers EPs. I especially liked Electrobank and of course, Block
Rockin'... Now that I can afford gear (unlike when I was in
university). I'm thinking about trying for a similar sound on the
Machinedrum UW. It should be wholly capable of this sound shouldn't it?
So, any advice would help. I am still a newb/hobbyist/ lurker. Any
advice about drum placement, groove and melody would be very helpful.
