Hehe, don't get me wrong, I will NOT be tossing the "bad" SID chip, but 
will in fact be giving it a new home in my collection of other glitch toys 
and circuit bent projects.

I actually have some mics on the SX64 right now for recording the 
non-linear glitch noises coming out of it (you should hear the madness that 
good ol' "S.A.M." talker produces).  :-)
