Elektron Musical Instruments

I was curious if anyone on this list has found a way to initiate a pattern
change on your MD from an external sequencer?  I have been successful in
triggering certain patterns by triggering certain note numbers on a given
"base" channel, but I'm more interested in doing a pattern change via a
program change.  I can change kits via external program changes but not
patterns.  I would rather have the capability of the latter since patterns
in extended mode can save kit information.  Am I missing something?  Perhaps
the MIDI implementation of this is not in the OS yet?  I'm running OS .97.
