If it really is the SID chip that is feeling a little weary.. then it might not be a bad idea to get hold of an old 64 for a few bucks and replacing the guts of the SIDStation. Ofcourse.. dump your patches beforehand, and be very careful and all that. It might do the trick.. C64's have had similar problems with their SID's.
