Ive got a Rm1x, but no MD... I do own a sidstation though In my opinion the MD cannot replace the RM at all... because the RM is designed to be a sequencer first - 64 note poly, 16 tracks MIDI 480,000 notes, etc. etc. Plus those realtime knobs are mapped to some very cool MIDI effects like MIDI delay, clock shift, harmonize, etc. etc. The MD has Midi machines as a sidenote - its main function is to make beats, and specifically to synthesize the instruments in a novel (and I imagine ass whooping) way. The RM's synth engine is whack, it can do a few things o.k. but nothing outstanding. Thats why I use it to sequence my keyboard and other synths. At one point I was planning on buying a MD as well as a RS7000 - but for now my budget wont even support a floppy disk, so I put my gear wishlist on hold. I will say that with the RM or RS and a MD, you could do some really killer stuff - considering that you can trigger patterns on the MD by using different notes, you could set up a track on the RM using a few notes here and there and then simply mute and unmute to affect the MD pattern changes - and thats just the beginning. Personally I would never get rid of my RM1x until I got a RS7000 or something just like it but better. The live performance capabilities exceed anything else on the market. -----Original Message----- From: mlampret1 <mlampret@...> To: elektron-users@yahoogroups.com <elektron-users@yahoogroups.com> Date: Friday, December 28, 2001 6:06 PM Subject: [elektron] MD vs RM1x seq >Hi all, >can anyone compare MD's sequencer with sequencer in RM1x?
