hrm well...
if you can edit tables, then you can edit the oscillators :)

[1]. go to [Osc] (once you've selected an existing or blank patch)

[2]. Set it to [Single] or [Poly]

[3]. Either [GoEdit] or enable o1, o2 or o3 (or all of them, tho best one at
a time so you can hear what's happening)

[4]. Select o1 and go in there!

[5]. Look! there's all these parameters for the oscillator!

[6]. If you know a bit about synthesis (time to learn!) these things will
look pretty familiar, but the SIDstation is a little different in a few ways
(the higher the number, the faster the oscillation -- rather than the other
way round we commonly know)..

[7]. Try out some stuff --- [Wave] -- you set the waveform the oscillator
plays. [PWM] you customise the pulsewidth settings (provided you set it as a
PWM waveform).. [Env] is your envelope generator (for shaping the sound)...
play with that!

[8]. Play with this stuff! .. when you add/edit your next oscillator, make
it a different waveform and play with synch and ringmodulation (this way you
can hear the effects).. [Vib] allows you to set the modulator for the
oscillators (controlled by the LFOs -- which are 'low frequency oscillators)
.. Also the arpeggiator is in [Pitch] .. have a play with that too.

[9]. Open up an existing patch and look at the settings, turn things off and
see what you get .. it's all about playing.

[10]. Finally I'd have to to say FTFM! ;) ... it's a great document , well
written --- read it and then play with your silver box.

cheers,
Andrew
