Hello Arno, AvG> What exactly where the limitations you ran across ? Several limitations... 1. In the byte sequence for patch names, some sort of padding character data is being used; the name be downloaded properly, but the patch will become corrupt if you try to edit the character data in SoundDiver. 2. Again with the character data, some sort of extended ASCII characters are being used for special characters, and I do not have the mappings. 3. Patch swapping cannot occur. The MD hard-codes the kit/pattern location in the patch itself, so when the data is sent back, it always gets put to the original location it came from. The only way to override this is by manually specifying the memory location on the unit itself in the SysEx REC page. AvG> I've been reading the manual and it suggests that the MD only accepts any AvG> given sysex packed if it has been specifically and manually asked to do so. AvG> Is this true and is this what you are referring to ? Yes, this is the biggest drawback. You cannot have the MD go into auto-request mode. The user must manually enter the SysEx REC page in order to send data. I am really hoping Elektron changes its SysEx implementation... -- Best regards, Adam adam@...
