This is working supremely. Running SX sync'd to the MDs MTC works like a charm. [Whereas the other way round was less than successful --apparently SX's timing is all over the map] Now, if I can only figure out outhow to get the MD recognize the transport Stop sig from SX... Is this SysEx? I can't find the start/stops signals in the MIDI implementation. Am I blind? Thanks! Still geeking... -E. : O.K. that is obvious, but to take advantage of the "parameter : lock" features : of the MD (one of its strongest points in my opinion), I will : program all my : patterns in extended mode on the MD of course. I will then : trigger these : patterns from the external sequencer. This is done by : setting up the midi : mapping in the global settings of the MD. You can assign a : midi note (which : corresponds to a midi note number) to a particular pattern : number on the MD. : You can even map individual sounds of your kit to these midi : note numbers : and trigger them externally. The MD comes from the factory : with patterns : A01 to A16 already mapped to certain midi notes. You can of : course change : these and also map the additional pattern banks B thru H.
