To comfort you (or scare perhaps?) I can let you know that the SID is 
usually not fried from too high input volumes, but from static 
discharges. So try to avoid these by grounding the cable before 
inserting it into the SidStation.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
