I donno if it's d&b style. But I've been messing with a e12 rim shot with hi retrig with slow timing. Some other tweaks too, and some echo too. Well I go to the filter and give it a high Q. Then I turn the filtf or filtw and the sound goes from brain-rumbling to 303 style squeeks.
