But it is certainly a very versatile machine in > terms of sonic possibilities I'm into all things electronic : dub, quirky house, soundscapes, leftfield disco, minimal & deep techno, etc. you see the picture ? fave artists/labels include maurizio, prelude, west end, chain reaction, environ, etc. what I'm after is a good meat and potato drum machine that will both emulate the classic drumboxes such as TR and SP, AND something that allows me to explore unexplored sonic territories, AND something that I can work on a standalone basis. I also want it very "crunchy" and "gritty" my current set up is somehow limited to a sampler, three vintage analog synths (two poly, one mono) some vintage effect units (space echo, ensoniq dp4) and a PC to add "the digital edge" and sequencing/mixing. I like to work on actual machines rather than VSTi for obvious reasons, although I tend to do more and more stuff in the PC. but it all depends on what vibe I'm after. I've got a waldorf Q which I am selling at the moment and I want to use the spare cash to buy a machinedrum. hope that'll help you answering
