This question is probably quite naive, but I'll ask it anyway. I have an Ensoniq Fizmo synth (glad to see it mentioned by someone as a "unique hardware synth" cos it's my first synth and it certainly beats to shit any other synth I've played!). Anyway I've just won a SidStation on eBay and it will be arriving any day now. I can honestly say I'm as excited now as I've been at any other time in my life! Quite sad maybe, but I've wanted a SidStation for 2 years now and to suddenly win one on eBay (and they crop up so rarely there anyway) is a great feeling. I'm into creating new, complex, evolving, organic sounds. That's why I got the Fizmo (and it certainly has proved itself well capable of creating amazing sounds!). I want to know if the SidStation, as well as producing "highly unusual electronic sounds and tones", can produce anything akin to strings or other orchestral sounds. Also, can it do percussion sounds*? *Don't mention a Machinedrum as that's way out of my budget just now!
