Re: [elektron] Digest Number 853

I think we're on the same track my friend ;)
I'm glad to see your MD is working fine now.
My situation is getting better as well.
I tried to make my MD work for more than 2 minutes
tonite. After 6-7 crashes, i was able to have a long gig
without any crash. And i have to admit that it
was a very satisfaying jam :):):)

Are you still experiencing crashes ?
If yes, do they happen in the same way
every time ? Cause i was wondering if i
was doing something i should not do,
therefore causing crashes.
I have OS 1.12B.

I was able to get a good overall picture of what the
MD has to offer, and i was NOT disapointed.
I even controlled my other synths and made program
changes easily. The only think i did not like
is the SRR, it just sounds like a Ring Mod with
one or two settings.

Thanks for your comment,

Simon

For better or for worse this list is mostly a cheerleader squad for
Elektron. This leads to unrealistic expectations of them and their gear. I
was ready to sell my MD after having nothing but problems with it for almost
the first year....crashing, faulty power supply, all the early hardware
problems and losing every preset and sound more than once....their quality
control is terrible, and being a small company they have to be more, not
less on top of this...but to be fair they are making unique gear, and after
hating my MD for being so buggy and shitty I do now find it a pleasure to
work with (though the MM are still total crap and don¹t work properly, but
the monomachine will put an end to any updates I fear) and everything seems
to be resolved...i'm very pleased I didn¹t sell it, and it is the centre of
my set up and a joy to use. Just be persistent with them and imagine a time
in the near future when it works.....And don't believe the hype about
Elektron being the best company ever, they have their flaws...but they are
helpful and they will make it better for you...... but you are right to
expect more from a $2000 drum machine sent to you from scandanavia than
having it dead out of the box
