this has just become a problem for myself yesterday when my new nord lead 2 
arrived in the mail.  i want to program a midi sequence onto my MD via the 
nord's keyboard... but it wont record the notes.  I could live with using 
the MD's interface to program velocity and aftertouch, but not being able to 
program notes via a keyboard makes the midi machines on the MD pretty much 
useless to me.  who really wants to spend an hour writing one bass line with 
the pitch knob.

guess i have to buy myself a dedicated midi sequencer.
