Elektron Musical Instruments

On the subject of recording note velocity - has anybody hooked up 
piezo pads to the inputs of the MD?  Can you record velocity using 
these?  

I was going to hack into my ultra-cool DD-5 and patch two of the 
piezos directly out (and send them to Input A and B).  Instead, I 
spent an hour setting the Global midi map so that the 12 drum-pads 
rout to corresponding MD pads...  The MD responds to the velocity of 
the pads - but I cannot record this velocity, right?  Maybe I'll have 
to open up the DD-5 after all.  But then, it would only be worth $10 
instead of $20... unless I add a circuit bend or two and paint it 
with faux-granite, then it will be worth $100.  Maybe I'll paint the 
elektron logo all over it, and sell it as a "prototype MD".
