It's "different". It's all digital whereas the I had more analog stuff
in it (especially the filters). So, it definitely doesn't have the same
amount of punch. On the other hand, the Microwave 2 can create more
different types of sounds and is better for strings and pads. If you can
afford both, get both as they complement eachother in many ways.

XT is "almost" the same as the Microwave 2, but with more knobs, analog
STEREO input (although I'm not sure whether it's summed to mono
internally) and more DSP RAM (some earlier revisions of Microwave 2 had
less DSP ram: can be upgraded when taking it in for the 30-voice
update). The XT is also unique and complements virtual analog synths
well.

Good choice! Just received a newsletter and their amount of chips is
getting low (200 chips left) so it's the right time to get one if you
haven't got it yet! This babe will be a classic for a very select group
of users!!!
