Hi, > is the microwave 2 as good as the 1st(is it worth the search?) It's "different". It's all digital whereas the I had more analog stuff in it (especially the filters). So, it definitely doesn't have the same amount of punch. On the other hand, the Microwave 2 can create more different types of sounds and is better for strings and pads. If you can afford both, get both as they complement eachother in many ways. > how does the xt compare...not looking for an analogue replacement but > something unique... XT is "almost" the same as the Microwave 2, but with more knobs, analog STEREO input (although I'm not sure whether it's summed to mono internally) and more DSP RAM (some earlier revisions of Microwave 2 had less DSP ram: can be upgraded when taking it in for the 30-voice update). The XT is also unique and complements virtual analog synths well. > but hey...sids getting a little restless in the backround..placing an > order > for the sid tommorrow.... Good choice! Just received a newsletter and their amount of chips is getting low (200 chips left) so it's the right time to get one if you haven't got it yet!
