forgive me if this is a stupid question: are you trying to record the
MD's MIDI data or the MD's audio? because it sounds like you just have
a MIDI setting issue... something is either being sent to and/or sent
from the MD that the MD/PC doesn't like.

what are the MIDI settings in the global slot you're using? that's
very likely where the problem is.
