You have my same set up. I have never tried to record my virus movements with the midi machines. I know they don't record notes. Try using the live record on the MD and turning the virus knobs. If it does'nt work, it doesn't work. Use song edit in the song menu to string patterns. Function and Kit button at the same time. There is no reason to string songs. You just have to program it all. One good plus is using the MD to tweak another patch in the virus multi-mode. The MD lfo's can tweak the virus. You have to set your most wanted CC#s in the MD midi machine. Using the envelope input machine is something I have been discovering, too.
