It's a cool idea, and I hope you'll try and realise it. One thing is that
it will use quite a lot of batteries, since the SID-chip is really hungry
for currency. I think it takes more than 50% of the currency required for
the SidStation!

One thing about the SidStation for doing a project like this is that it
uses only 5V in, and regulates it up to 12V for the SID. Not the other way
around which would have required at least 2.4 times more power.
