Monomachine Presets!

2003-12-09 by daniel_elektron

Make your own preset!

The development of OS1.0 is coming to an end. All features that will
be included is a part of OS1.0 has been implemented, but we still
need to compile the sounds that will be included as presets. We hope
that some of you beta users would like to help us to make a gold
rimmed diversified selection! We will collect suggestions for
presets until christmas. If you are interested in participating,
please read on for instructions!

1) All presets will come as a collection of one, two or four
patterns connected to one kit.

2) All presets should be intended to be played in Multi trig mode.
Choose which multi trig mode you prefer: All trackk, Split key, Seq
start or Seq transpose.

3) All presets should sound when the sequencer is played. That means
that even if you have chosen to use Multi trig mode "All trk"
or "Split mode" you should still program the sequencer to make some
sound.

This means that from the end users point of view a preset is one of
the patterns (A01-H16). We will also include one or a few songs, so
if you have made a song from your patterns, feel free to submit the
song as well!

Some additional guidelines to pay attention to while programming
your preset:

1) Make sure the Kit->Assign settings are put to good use for all
tracks. Try to change the default settings, and consider to map
something from most pages and tracks. Verify that it sounds good
also in Multi trig mode when all tracks are reached at once from the
joy, velocity and key track.

2) Check that the Kit->Trig settings are adequate for the type of
sound you have created.

3) We will strive for diversity in the style of the presets. That
probably means that techno and electronica style sounds will have a
lower chance to make it.

Save your patch in GLOBAL->FILE->SYSEX SEND using the PAT+KIT
setting, or SONG+PAT+KIT if the patterns are used in a song. We
prefer patches supplied in SYSEX format, but will probably also be
able to handle standard MIDI files.

Sounds should be supplied by email to info@... before the
21:st of December to be sure to make it into OS1.0! Please include
your full name, a short description of the sound, and any possible
directions on how you planned for it to be used. All authors of
sounds that we choose will be mentioned in the users manual.

Now make some sound!

Daniel Hansson, Elektron

Disclamer: We reserve the full rights to select which presets will
be used finally, and to name them as we prefer. We assume the
copyright of all patterns included in OS1.0.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
