So... after reading this I started to dream up a synth that was intended for Multi-trig mode. Most of my kits are sets of single synths, so I had to start thinking about the different multi trig modes. And I started to get excited about setting up a perverse Yamaha SY-series vector synthesis kit, with two FM synths with their volumes mapped reciprocally on the left/right joystick motion, and two other synths (DigiPro--> Korg Wavestation!) on the vertical. You could really make a mind-blowing vector synth on the monomachine... and then, using a high BPM tempo, and sequence start mode to trigger 96 recorded steps in the vector motion profile, you could record the joystick vector motions and ... DAMNIT!!!!!!!!! So... I'm scrapping the plan... If you could record the joystick (minus pitch) you could (justifiably) claim that the Monomachine has 6 synths: i) Superwave pro ii) SID iii) DigiPRO iv) FM+ v) VO and... vi) Vektor_machine! I know... I have to move beyond this gripe... I'm working on it. But being able to say that your synth is more flexible than a Korg wavestation, a Prophet VS, and a Yamaha SY with just one minor, non- invasive OS tweak would is something worth considering. -gerald http://hekta.iet.hist.no/~leifcr/sy77/sy-prog/node14.html
