Hi guys, I've had a MachineDrum for quite a while now, and I've been using it more and more as a live instrument in my setup. The problem I am starting to have is in the GLOBAL section. In GLOBAL I go into the MIDI setup and am forced to allow 3 MIDI channels to recieve, the problem is that I am exclusively using the machinedrum as a standalone sequencer synced to my PC's sequencer. Since I have a bunch of multis and gear setup on the same MIDI chain, the machinedrum's sounds are triggered by MIDI information that happens to be on one of the channels it has selected. There is a way to circumvent this behavior however, which is by going into GLOBAL and some setup page that relates to key and pattern assignment. I merely go to all 16 tracks and 16 patterns, and turn the knob left until I get an "-". This to me is a big pain, because there's no way to speed up the process. I've recently made a SysEx backup of Global, so I can do a factory reset when working on a new project, and just upload the GLobal SysEx. Has anybody had the same problem? If so, how did they fix it? I personally think a better option would be for Elektron to allow a faster way to make sounds and patterns to NOT be triggered over MIDI, and just allow the machinedrum to receive clock information. Also, I would also like a way to reduce the MIDI channels to 1 channel, since it's not always useful to have access to CCs if you are just triggering sounds. I use a lot of my synths in multimode, and it's quite easy to fill the 16 channels of MIDI... Having the MachineDrum using 3 channels by itself is wasteful in my setup the majority of the time.
