Elektron Musical Instruments

Hey guys and girls , let me ask you this ?!
Is the MD a good hip-hop drum machine ? 
i know the akai mpc-1000 is a sequencer \/sampler 
and the md is a "synth.sequencer"
but can the machinedrum do "dan the automator" style phat beats that 
the akai are know for?
is there anyway you can make the md sound good (sit-well in tracks) 
for hip-hop?

, i will soon expand my home-studio . i make rock, punk, trip-hop , 
amon-tobin type stuff .. and all i have heard from the machinedrum 
are elektronic songs and IDM type stuf. does the machine cover alot 
of styles or just those ?  am i better of with the akai mpc-1000 ?

Sorry for all this questions , is that i can't try out the MD (all 
the samples i have heard sound so good) and i'm not sure if its sound 
is right for me !

ps/ if anybody has a trip-hop , hip-hop type song done on a md , 
please please post it !!! peace
