I got both, and I can“t live without them. But my advice is. If you like hip hop style beats go with the mpc. Then you will have more options when making "realistic" beats. The MD is the best drumsynthiziser ther is, and the MPC is the best drumsampler there is. The MPC can be more realistic, but the MD can tweak you in to space. I dont know if that helps you. But that is my opinion;) --- D --- In elektron-users@yahoogroups.com, "gregorio472001" <gregorio472001@y...> wrote: > Hey guys and girls , let me ask you this ?! > Is the MD a good hip-hop drum machine ? > i know the akai mpc-1000 is a sequencer \/sampler > and the md is a "synth.sequencer" > but can the machinedrum do "dan the automator" style phat beats that > the akai are know for? > is there anyway you can make the md sound good (sit-well in tracks) > for hip-hop? > > , i will soon expand my home-studio . i make rock, punk, trip-hop , > amon-tobin type stuff .. and all i have heard from the machinedrum > are elektronic songs and IDM type stuf. does the machine cover alot > of styles or just those ? am i better of with the akai mpc-1000 ? > > Sorry for all this questions , is that i can't try out the MD (all > the samples i have heard sound so good) and i'm not sure if its sound > is right for me ! > > ps/ if anybody has a trip-hop , hip-hop type song done on a md , > please please post it !!! peace
