I don't know why this is still being brought up. It's more intuative to have to push down for larger movements since you are turning harder. Try doing fine adjustments while pushing down. What I like to do is run my finger along the top corner for the small movements. It moves quite fast. It's really not that difficult and don't know why it's an issue.
