I think you'd have to offer some cash for someone to give up the MD
for a nice piece of vintage gear.  Worth a try.  Another thing to do
is sell it to a serious buyer that's into collecting or such, it is
rare, and use whatever money you get to order a MD.  But I'm sure you
are doing that.  I'm betting you can get 1000USD for it.
